Know your limitations and ask for help

It’s okay to ask for help. If you feel that a colleague’s assistance will help defuse a situation or you need support then ask? This is not an admission of failure. Some people will respond better to a different approach, style or personality. Think about the different personalities in your family, some members of the family will respond better to others, while bringing particular people together will guarantee a ‘show-down’. This is true of the people we deal with professionally and if it is possible it is better to match people with the most appropriate worker. If think the customer will respond better to different member of staff, it is far better to ask for support than to keep digging in deeper. Remember the skill is in sorting the problem out and finding the most appropriate solution.
